My photographic subjects and interests have always been of natural landscapes, historically reminiscent events and historical places that reflect my personal fascination with our western heritage.  I enjoy photographing out-of-the-way places that are seldom seen and off the beaten path, yet elicit a feeling of familiarity and warmth from the viewer. Good outdoor photographs require not only good subjects, but also proper lighting and atmospheric conditions that cannot be predicted, making it difficult to plan a photographic outing. Because of this, many of my most profound photographs have been taken by being prepared for that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when it arises.
